Academy Award winner, Belladonna Marrone is best known for her portrayal of the sultry undercover spy in “Sicilian Heat”, now available on DVD and OnDemand. Bored with the glamor and not wanting to be typecast, Marrone has come to the United
States to take on an unexpected, but quirky role, entitled, “On Strike!”
As a rookie welder going by the name of Sam Kuzmic, the actress is pit against tough Union Boss, Mitch Scanlon. The stakes are high and Scanlon tries to get Kuzmic off the job where he feels she is a distraction. A mob of women’s rights advocates descend on the work site in Kuzmic’s support. Here’s where the flick takes a totally unexpected turn, can anyone say “Musical?”
The singing and dancing are what you would expect to see on Broadway, put West Side Story and Chicago together, throw in some mud wrestling and make sure you order the extra large popcorn.
This movie marks a move away from Belladonna Marrone’s past, but will it be good for her future. You will love it . . . or hate it. I report, you decide.
Shooting dogs and coyotes outdoors is a lot easier than capturing humans inside. Let's just say that nature provides the perfect backdrops, canyons, beaches and trails. When my daughter asked me to take a few pictures of her, she lost all hers when her hard drive crashed recently, I started pretending I was Annie Leibovitz. I bought some light gray satin and a shower rod to make a backdrop. Wrong! The material was beautiful off camera, but too shiny and a disaster when the flash hit it. Then the location, an upstairs bedroom with not enough light, my little flash really couldn't handle it. So, being no Annie Lebovitz I went to my old faithful Photoshop Elements and switched out the background on some shots. I took nearly 200 and may have a few that will do, but the music was playing and so were we. I guess the moral of the story is just do it - at least I didn't have to wait for the drugstore to call and say my photos were ready. Ah, the ease and economy of delete, delete, delete.
