I Need Your Vote . . . please . . . . and Thanks!

Our local North County San Diego newspaper is holding a  15 month Calendar Photo Contest, which I entered. It’s called  “That’s My Ride”  The voting starts on July 12 and is a fundraiser to help put the newspaper in our schools.

Your Vote will help put my photo either on the cover,  or on the page of one month.

Each vote is $1.00 toward helping the kids read.

THANK YOU . . . How did you do that? Voting starts on July 12th. About everyone who has entered has snail mailed photos and they will be scanned and in the NC Times on Sunday the 12th. Only a few people emailed photos, me included.

Hi,
What a vote of confidence - I will find out why you couldn't vote. I did speak with the man running the contest and he couldn't understand how Maureen bought votes since the rules say no voting until July 12. I did look up the outside company who hosts the site, www.Upickem.com, and it is on the up and up, I think there was a lack of communication with the paper and the host company.

I forgot to ask, what was the message you received, not accepting votes at this time or a currency problem? I will get to the heart of the situation . . . but no one will be in the newspaper office until Monday.

Just got email from the NC Times guy:

"Hi Andrea,

Well, I know that the voting doesn't open until July 12th, so I'm assuming that's the main reason. Maybe have them try again on the 12th. Outside the US shouldn't be an issue unless Government or some other issue outside our control blocks certain websites.

Hi,
They have finally gotten all 41 entries posted online - there are three other bikes, lots of cars and a few trucks. I think it will be a case of how many friends you can get to vote for you rather than the best photo . . . no film at 11.

HI,

contest ending on Sunday night - winners to be announced on OCt. 9th, or 11th.my computer has been in a meltdown for three weeks, hardrive, motherboard etc. Still in shop, I do have insurance so I may end up getting a new one . . . I can only hope.
